Description
Grout Sealer #1 & Admixture is a water based fluoropolymer emulsion which seals grout to prevent staining and water intrusion. The sealer dries invisible and does not change the appearance of colored grout. It can either be applied with a “grout applicator” or simply painted on to the grout lines with a thin paint brush. This provides the grout with an invisible protective barrier against water and oil based stains, household acids and alkalis, and the formation of mold and mildew growth all of which can cause discoloration and staining. The fluoropolymer emulsion also makes the grout easier to clean and it is safe to use in enclosed spaces because it is water based and non-flammable with negligible VOCs.
Grout Sealer #1 & Admixture will cover approximately 300 sf/gal/app and two coats are recommended 2 hours apart rather than one thick coat. It should be re-applied every 2 to 3 years.
Grout Sealer #1 & Admixture can also be used as a grout admixture where it just replaces the recommended amount of water in the grout mixture (replace 1 gallon of water with 1 gallon of Grout Sealer #1). Once it is cured the grout is completely sealed internally against water and staining throughout the whole structure so in this process it never has to be re-applied.
